Mosaic Interview - Adrian Van Giessen
Adrian Van Giessen is the New Church Development Specialist for The Christian Reformed Church (Central and Eastern Canada). We asked him why he is encouraging CRC leaders and church planters to be part of Mosaic. Here's what he said:
Over the last 15 years, the Christian Reformed Church has planted some 25 new churches across Canada that have in their DNA a passion to connect the good news of Jesus with the growing number of Canadians no longer looking to the Christian church for their spiritual answers. For those on the 'front lines', it is tough, exciting, vital work . Where can leaders in these kinds of entrepreneurial ministries go to be inspired and challenged by others who share their church planting passion to reach Canada for Christ? Where can church planters network and learn from others cross denominationally who share their passion for reaching Canada for Christ?
For us the biennial Canadian Church Planting Congress sponsered by Church Planting Canada has been one place that consistantly provides training , encouragement and networking for our planters in a form that connects with them and scratches where they itch. This November, we are inviting 60+ church planting types from across Canada to join us in Toronto to attend Mosaic 2005. We will be using this as an opportunity to participate in a proven great Canadian conference with a wonderful lineup of speakers and workshops.
In addition we'll be adding on one day to allow our planters to network with each other and be provided with some training and encouragement.
We believe it's a great opportunity to hear what God is doing across our land and to become a vital part of the larger kingdom work that God is doing in our country.
